About Us

Ajubatus, taken from the latin Acinonyx jubatus (Cheetah) epitomises the freedom of spirit, grace and dynamism of our conservation initiatives. The concept of establishing a Foundation was conceived in the African wilderness in early 1992.

Over the years, Ajubatus has come to mean different things to different people and yet our founding principles and ethic remains unchanged, the preservation and promotion of our wilderness heritage. To this end we have dedicated our efforts to initiatives that truly embrace the highest conservation ethics. A world first was created in late 2003 when Ajubatus Marine and Wildlife Rescue took up residence at the Historic Seal Point Lighthouse in the resort town of Cape St. Francis on the Eastern Cape coast. Not without its problems, the siting of a leading edge conservation initiative at a working lighthouse afforded us the opportunity to create upliftment initiatives and empowerment of formerly disadvantaged communities. This was been achieved through the Ajubatus Skills Training initiative in the fields of Field/Marine Guiding and Hospitality.

In 2007 John Dyer and Greg Beyers launched Ajubatus Environmental Management an environmental management consulting company as the core of the Ajubatus Group of Companies
